Kashmir & Houseboat (06 Days/05 Nights)
The blossoms of spring, the cool weather of summer and the gold and red hues of autumn all provide the peak season to visit Kashmir. Although the best time to visit is during March to October which covers spring, summers, autumn but December to February is the winter season when the entire valley wears a white blanket of snow and picture perfect for those who love skiing.
Day 01: Arrive Srinagar
Arrive Srinagar via Delhi or Mumbai, meet and assistance on arrival at the airport by your tour manager and transfer to the traditional Kashmiri houseboat anchored on prime location of Dal Lake and your accommodation for five nights. (D)
Day 02: Gulmarg Excursion (Driving Time: Approx 2 hours)
Enjoy full day excursion to Gulmarg and leisurely walks on the lush green meadows of flowers with a backdrop of the snow capped mountains. The lush green slopes, their silence broken by the occasional tinkling of cow bells, have been the locale for several Bollywood movies. Optionally take a Gondola ride up to Kongdori to enjoy the magnificent sights of the meadows from the top. With the encircling forests of tall conifers, grassy hills adorned with colourful flower, Gulmarg assumes an unparallel beauty. (B,D)
Day 03: Sonamarg Excursion (Driving Time: Approx 3 hours)
Travel to Sonamarg for full day excursion through the Sindh Valley which presents yet another spectacular facet of countryside and known as “the meadow of gold'. When the mellow rays of the sun caress the snow capped mountains they turn golden, giving it, its name. This town surrounded by breathtaking glaciers and serene lakes, is a snow covered beautiful flower laden meadow in the majestic Himalayan mountain ranges. Encircled by snow-covered mountains and dense forests, full of sycamore and alpine flowers, silver birch, fir and pine, the meadow presents a captivating sight. (B,D).
Day 04: Srinagar
Srinagar situated around glistening lakes and snowy trees forested mountain slopes, is a lively, vibrant canal city. After breakfast go for city sightseeing tour and visit world renowned Mughals gardens build in 17th century for its architectures wonder. Situated on the banks of the Dale Lake are the celebrated Nishat Bagh (Abode of pleasure) built by Asif Khan brother of Empress Noor Jehan and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love) built by Emperor Jehangir for his wife Noor Jehan. These ancient gardens are still maintained along with their terraced gardens, maple trees, refreshing fountains and blooming flowers and are overlooked by the picturesque Zabarwan Mountains. (B,D)
Day 05: Srinagar
Enjoy your leisurely breakfast and soak in the vicinity of the Kashmir valley. A ride on the Shikaras or the floating gardens is a delight in itself and the backdrop of the mountains infuses a magical charm to the panoramic views of the lake. Witness how ferrymen floating on the Lake sell flowers, vegetables, handicrafts, etc. The day is free for your own activity or explore local traditional market. Kashmir is known for its woollen shawls, Pashmina shawls and shahtoosh shawls. The local artisans are expert in woodcarving and they use walnut wood to make items like tables, chairs, stools, fruit bowls, etc with rich floral and trellis patterns. (B,D)
Day 6: Srinagar Departure – Delhi/Mumbai
After breakfast tour finish with transfer to the airport where you board flight to Delhi or Mumbai to get your connected flight. (B)
