India Explorer Tour is specially design to give an experience of a lifetime. It starts in Delhi which is the ideal destination to discover the dichotomy between the modern skyscrapers and Old Delhi's winding alleys and concluded down south touching Kanyakumari. Day 01: Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi the capital of India. Throwing a charismatic charm on its visitors, Delhi enriched with culture, architecture and human diversity, spreads along the western end of the Gangetic plain. A city deep with history, invaluable monuments and landmarks of love, empires, religion and sacrifices, Delhi has a long illustrative tale to tell. Our tour Manager will welcome us at the airport arrival lounge with TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS signboard. Transfer to hotel where you receive a traditional welcome with Garland and Tilak while the hotel formalities is completed. Rest of the day is at leisure with overnight at hotel.
Day 02: : Delhi
After a brief introduction of the city tour by our Tour Manager we proceed for our welcome India tour. The city is a fusion of the ancient and the modern culture. We visit Jama Masjid, and drive pass India gate, Parliament and President House before entering in to the famous bazaar of Chandini Chowk. During our tour you will be surprised that the city comprise of two contrasting yet harmonious parts. The ancient fortness, majestic buildings and historic ruins find their modern counterparts in the skyscrapers, diplomatic enclaves and well-planned townships. Afternoon free to explore the city with overnight at hotel.(B,D).
Day 03:Delhi – Jaipur (258 kms / 5 hrs)
We travel to Jaipur known as the Pink city of India. The pink colour was used at the time of constructing the place to create an impression of red sandstone buildings of Mughal cities. However, the whole town was repainted in 1876, during the visit of the Prince of Wales, Edward II. Jaipur is the first planned city of India, located in the desert lands of Rajasthan. Rest of the day if free to take stroll in the colourful Bazaar and witness man wearing traditional clothes with distinctive turban while women walking with colourful clothes embroider with the glass work. True to its title of being a Royal City, Jaipur offers everything from historic monuments to precious stones and pearls and not forgetting the famous lacquer bangles. Overnight at hotel.(B,D)
Day 04: Jaipur
Today we enjoy the city sightseeing tour and visit City palace – which was once a beautiful royal residence, Jantar Mantar – the largest and fascinating observatory complex with huge stone structures to measure time, chart the declination of celestial bodies and predict eclipses and Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds)- whose façade is adorned with elaborate, perforated screens. Feel the royalty from yesteryears and witness beautiful palaces where Rajput queens and warriors resided in days gone by. Afternoon free for shopping or your own activities. Overnight at hotel. (B,D)
Day 05: Jaipur (Elephant Ride)
Today we enjoy the excursion and elephant ride from the foot of the fort to the top of the Amber Fort. The marvellous decoration of the Amber Fort is influenced by both, the Hindu and Muslim manner of ornamentation. Exquisite paintings of hunting scenes on the walls depict the temperament of the Rajputs, who were adventurous, revolutionary and self-indulgent. The rugged forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise with a beautiful fusion of art and architecture. The interiors of the palace tell the story of a bygone era of patronage and expert artistry. Day 06: Jaipur – Agra (232 kms / 4 hrs 30 mins)
After enjoying breakfast we travel to Agra. The most awaited and preferred city in India. En-rout visit abandon city of Mughal known as Fatehpur Sikri, now a World Heritage Site and find the motive behind the desertion of this wonderful city. Overnight at hotel. (B,D)
Day 07: Agra
We start our sightseeing tour by visiting symbol of everlasting love the Taj Mahal. Best example of Islamic architecture in India, built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his queen Mumtaz Mahal. It is an “elegy in marble” or some say an expression of a “dream”. Taj Mahal means “Crown Palace” and is in fact the most well preserved and architecturally beautiful tomb in the world. Later visit Agra fort – built in red sandstone with its magnificent palaces, halls of public and private audience and beautiful gardens and Pearl mosque – built out of white marble, it is one of the ancient mosques and it used to shine like a pearl once upon a time, hence the name. Afternoon is free to take stroll in the Sadar bazaar. Overnight at hotel. (B,D)
Day 08: Agra – Gwalior (120 kms / 2 hrs 30 mins)
Today we travel to Gwalior and visits Palaces and Fort. The city boasts of its glorious past and its present modern outlook. The Mughal emperor Babar referred to the Gwalior Fort built in 15th century as “the pearl amongst fortresses in India” and although you may beg to differ, you will probably agree that this, the dominating feature of Gwalior’s skyline, is definitely a citadel worth seeing. Day 09:Gwalior – Orchha (120 kms / 3 hrs)
We travel to Orchha, after some relaxation enjoy our sightseeing tour and visit Jehangir Mahal, Raj Mahal and beautiful temples of the city. Orchha’s grandeur has been captured in stone, frozen in time, a rich legacy to the ages. In this medieval city, the hand of time has rested lightly and the palaces and temples built by its Bundela rulers in the 16th and 17th centuries retain much of their pristine perfection. Day 10: Orchha – Khajuraho (178 kms / 4 hrs)
Today we travel to Khajuraho, world famous for the Khajuraho Temples built by the Chandellas. Khajuraho oozes with passion, eroticism, dance and music and other finesses of creative arts depicted in sculpture and images of the temples. Afternoon stroll in the narrow street of this fascinating village with a quaint rural ambience and a rich cultural heritage. Optionally in the evening you can enjoy light and sound show at the temples. Overnight at hotel.(B,D)
Day 11:Khajuraho
We enjoy sightseeing tour of world famous Erotic temples. The temples were constructed between 950 and 1050 A.D. and considered the "high point" of Indian architectural genius in the medieval period which represents the expression of a highly matured civilization. Only 22 temples have survived out of the original 85 temples. It displays one of the most unique stone-carving works and was declared a World Heritage Site in 1986. Overnight at hotel.(B,D)
Day 12:Khajuraho – Jhansi – Trivandrum (Overnight Train) (180 kms / 3 hrs 30 mins)
After leisurely breakfast we travel to Jhansi to board our train ETD 5.35pm. We travel in air-condition sleeper coach which has curtain for privacy, in the night seats are converted in to berth while attendant will provided bedding for your journey. Overnight on board. (B) (Dinner not included)
Day 13:In Train
Enjoy beautiful scenery as the train passes through the small hidden towns of India. Overnight on board. (No meals included)
Day 14:Arrive Trivandrum – Kanyakumari (80 kms / 1 hr 30 mins)
Afternoon ETA 2.20pm arrive Trivandrum and travel to Kanyakumari, rest of the day at leisure with overnight at hotel.(D)
Day 15: Kanyakumari
After leisurely breakfast we enjoy sightseeing tour of this small but exceptionally beautiful town, located on the confluence of three oceans - the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. The multicoloured sand is a unique feature of the beach here. The magnificent hills, calm valleys and the plains bordered by colourful sea-shores, provide a pleasant touchto the surroundings. Enjoy the enchanting view from the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. Overnight at hotel. (B,D)
Day 16: Kanyakumari – Kovalam (Ayurveda Massage) (90 kms / 2 hrs)
After breakfast travel to Kovalam to explore the beautiful beaches and basics Ayurveda oil massage. Ayurveda is the ancient Indian way of healing. It originated in India more than 10,000 years ago and deals elaborately with herbal preparations directed towards strengthening the immune system, preventing and curing diseases without any side effects. The Ayurvedic principle of positive health and therapeutic measures are associated with the physical, mental, social and spiritual wellbeing of all individuals. Optional you may try out an extensive Ayurveda treatment during your stay at hotel at an additional cost. (B,D)
Day 17:Kovalam
“Kovalam” means a grove of coconut trees and true to its name the village offers an endless sight of coconut trees. The azure blue waters and the splendid spread of green palm groves make it a tropical paradise of class. Enjoy your leisurely breakfast as the day is free for your own activities with overnight at hotel. (B,D)
Day 18: Kovalam – Kumarakom (176 kms / 4 hrs)
We travel to Kumarakom to laze in a canoe amidst sylvan surroundings where the only presence is yours and the egrets. Kumarakom is a little picturesque village consisting of a cluster of small islands on the Vembanad Lake. The beauty of nature amidst spectacular mangrove forests, coconut canopies and pulsating paddy fields peppered with enchanting waterways and canals decked with wild lilies, adds to the beauty of its surroundings. Enjoy rest of the day at leisure or stroll around this amazing town and stay overnight at hotel.(B,D)
Day 19: Kumarakom (Bird Sanctuary)
Today we visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary where numerous species of birds are found. You can get thrilled of the native kingfishers ablaze in psychedelic colours, experience a walk under rookeries of egrets and night herons or lone golden-backed woodpeckers and even delight in the acrobatics of the paradise fly-catchers. For an inquisitive bird watcher, it is always advisable to carry their binoculars at all times. Overnight at hotel. (B,D)
Day 20: Kumarakom - Alleppey (Kettuvallam - Traditional Backwater Cruise) (50 kms / 1 hr)
This morning we embark Kettuvallam, while sailing enjoy palm fringed narrow canals winding through the vast expanse of paddy fields and the neat tiny hamlets lined up along either side of the canals. Flocks of duck swimming around the banks and tiny birds flying across the sky remains as enduring pictures. All meals with overnight onboard. (B,D)
Day 21: Alleppey – Cochin (65 kms / 1 hr 30 mins)
After breakfast we disembark and travel to Cochin. A city tucked in the beauty of coconut palms and endless blue waters, it is one of the important towns in South India, with a natural harbour. In the evening enjoy the Kathakali dance show, one of India's most famous Classical dances, lavish Costumes, exotic makeup and masks intensify the beauty of the dancers. Overnight at hotel. (B,D)
Day 21: Cochin
Enjoy your leisurely breakfast as the day is free for last moment shopping of antique articles, garments and ethnic hand-woven textile shops at Durbar Hall Road, Jew Town, Marine-Drive - Park Avenue, where you find a number of government run emporiums and private shops selling authentic articles at good prices, while exploring this town. Overnight at hotel. (B,D)
Day 21: Cochin departure
After breakfast checkout from the hotel at 12.00pm and transfer to the airport to board flight for you’re onwards journey.(B)
