Day 01: Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi the capital of India. Our tour Manager will welcome us at the airport arrival lounge with TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS signboard. Transfer to hotel where you receive a traditional welcome with Garland and Tilak while the hotel formalities is completed. Rest of the day is at leisure with overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Delhi
The city conceals within its bosom the remains of civilisation that flourished over the last three thousand years. Since those legendary days, many dynasties and rulers have flourished on its regal soil. The legacy of that past survives in the many monuments left behind by the regents. Before we proceed for the sightseeing our tour Manager will brief us about the day tour. We visit Jama Masjid, India Gate, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial and drive pass the Parliament and President house before making our way to the Chandani Chok Bazaar. Overnight at Delhi. (B,D).
Day 03: Delhi – Jaipur (258 kms / 5 hrs)
This morning after breakfast we travel to the capital of Rajasthan State also known as the Pink city of India. Settled in the rugged hills of the Aravalis, Jaipur is the pristine jewel in the desert sands of Rajasthan. It is built of pink stucco and planned in a grid system with wide avenues. The city has a timeless appeal in its colourful markets, the ambling camels and cheerful people in multi-hued costumes. Afternoon is free to course the colourful bazaar trails in Jaipur before enjoying dinner and overnight at the hotel. (B,D)
Day 04: Jaipur (Elephant Ride)
We enjoy an elegantly painted elephant ride to the Amber Fort. The fort is remarkable as much for the majestic grandeur of its surroundings as for its sturdy battlements and beautiful places. It compasses a fine blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture. On our way back visit Hawa Mahal the focal point of Jaipur city also known as The Palace of Winds, a five-storey high Baroque-like structure built to enable the veiled ladies of the harem to observe the street scenes below and remain unnoticed. Evening is free for shopping as the city is famous for the expensive coloured Diamond to the junk Jewellery or even colourful costume for both man and women. Overnight at hotel.(B,D)
Day 05: Jaipur – Agra (232 kms / 4 hrs 30 mins)
This is the day when we travel to Agra to pay our tribute to the everlasting monument of love. Agra has a rich historical background, which is amply evident from the numerous historical monuments in and around the city. Though the heritage of the city is linked with the Mughal dynasty, numerous other rulers have also contributed to the rich past. Modern Agra was founded by Sikandar Lodhi (Lodhi dynasty; Delhi Sultanate) in the 16th century. Babar (founder of the Mughal dynasty) also stayed for sometime in Agra and introduced the concept of square Persian-styled gardens here. Afternoon will be free to explore this world renowned city. Day 06: Agra
After breakfast we start our sightseeing tour with everlasting and enduring The Taj Mahal. Best example of Islamic architecture in India, built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his queen Mumtaz Mahal. This monument took 22 years to be completed and was designed and planned by Persian architect Ustad Isa. Apart from its stunning design balance and perfect symmetry, the Taj is also noted particularly for its elegant domes, intricately carved screens and some of the best inlay work ever seen. Later visit Agra fort, built by Emperor Akbar in 1565. Fort contains the hall of public and private audiences amongst many other beautiful structures. Rest of the day is free to discover the city the way you like. Overnight at hotel.(B,D)
Day 07: Agra – Gwalior (120 kms / 2 hrs 30 mins)
To day we travel to the cradle of great Indian dynasties - Gwalior and enjoy the sightseeing tour of the city. Steeped in the splendour of its past, Gwalior had a made a successful transition into a modern Indian city, vibrant and bustling. The magnificent mementos of a glorious past have been preserved with care, giving the city an appeal unique and timeless. The Mughal emperor Babar referred to the Gwalior Fort built in 15th century as “the pearl amongst fortresses in India” and although you may beg to differ, you will probably agree that this, the dominating feature of Gwalior’s skyline, is definitely a citadel worth seeing. A multitude of images merge and mix to present the visitor a city of enduring greatness. Overnight at Hotel.(B,D)
Day 08: Gwalior – Orchha (120 kms / 2 hrs 30 mins)
Today we travel to Orchha a beautiful small town 15 Km away from the well known city of Jhansi, famous for the bravery of Rani Laxmibai the Queen of Jhansi, the first Hindu women to stand against the British to save her Kingdom in 1857. Orchha’s grandeur has been captured in stone, frozen in time, a rich legacy to the ages. The remarkable proportions of the exteriors are matched by the majestic of the interior-rich Bundela art. The richness of its palaces, temples and cenotaphs is reflected in the gently flowing water of the Bewa River. Rest of the day will be free to explore this small town. Overnight at hotel.
Day 09: Orchha
The town is famous for its palaces and temples built in the 16th and 17th centuries and the architectural splendour of the monuments reflects the glory of its rulers. We start our sightseeing tour with Jehangir Mahal built in year 1606 by Raja Bir Singh Ju Deo, a tiered palace crowned by graceful chhatris, followed by Raj Mahal – vibrant murals encompassing a variety of religious and secular themes bringing the walls and ceilings to rich life, Rai Parveen Mahal, beautiful temples and stroll in the narrow street of this small but beautiful town. Day 10: Orchha – Khajuraho (178 kms / 4 hrs)
This morning we travel to Khajuraho, a place famous for its stone carved Khajuraho Temples, though it’s a small town, it surely will leave a long lasting impression in your mind. The temples have an interesting legend – its is said that in a fit of passion and lust, the Moon God seduced and ravaged a beautiful widow Brahmin girl known as Hemvati, resulting in the birth of Chandravaram (founder of the Chandela Dynasty). Later, he had a dream where his mother requested him to make a temple which would reveal all aspects of the treasure of passion and erotic fantasy to the world. Rest of the day is free for your own activities. Optionally you can enjoy the light and sound show at the temples. Overnight at hotel.(B,D)
Day 11: Khajuraho
After breakfast enjoy sightseeing tour of world famous Erotic temples, constructed between 950 and 1050 A.D. these temples are considered the "high point" of Indian architectural genius in the medieval period. Though the engravings on the temples are highly sensual and erotic, they have a symbolic importance and there have been many interpretations on their existence. Out of 85 temples believed to have been built, only 20 have survived, many in splendid condition, others having given way to the ravages of time and nature. Khajuraho is a fascinating village with a quaint rural ambience and a rich cultural heritage. The fascinating temples of Khajuraho, India's unique gift of love to the world represent the expression of a highly matured civilization. Overnight at Khajuraho.(B,D)
Day 12: Khajuraho – Bandhavgarh (280 kms / 5 hrs 30 mins)
To day we make our way to Bandhavgarh National Park to enjoy the wildlife. The park is nested in the foothills of the undulating Vindhya mountain range of Central India and features hills and ravines. Bandhavgarh is the crown in the wildlife legacy of Madhya Pradesh and is the natural habitat to a wide range of floral and fauna. Rest of the afternoon is free to take a long walk or stroll around the village. Overnight at Jungle Resort.(B,D)
Day 13: Bandhavgarh (Jungle Safari)
Enjoy visit to the Bandhavgarh National Park- home to the famous White Tigers of Rewa. This is the place where the first white tiger, called MOHAN was found in 1951, who supposedly fathered several offspring now found in zoos the world over. This white tiger is now stuffed and on display in the Palace of the Mahrahahs of Rewa. The chances of seeing a tiger in this national park is much higher than in any other national park in the region. Overnight at Jungle Resort. (B,D)
Day 14: Bandhavgarh
Enjoy leisurely breakfast as the day is kept free. As an option you can go for another jungle safari as Bandhavgarh is densely populated with other species: the great gaur, or Indian bison can be seen with ease as they come to the meadows to graze at dusk; sambar and barking deer are a common sight and nigai are to be ssen in the more open areas of the park. End your day with dinner and overnight at Jungle resort.(B)
Day 15: Bandhavgarh - Delhi (Overnight Train)
Day is free till our transfer to board overnight train ETA 8:00pm. Bedding will be provided by the attendant while we enjoy our travel in air condition sleeper class. Overnight on board.(B,D)
Day 16: Delhi Departure
Arrive Delhi in the afternoon ETA 2.00pm, assistance and transfer to the airport to board the flight for your onward journey.
