Day 01: Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi the capital of India. Our tour Manager will welcome us at the airport arrival lounge with TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS signboard. Transfer to hotel where you receive a traditional welcome with Garland and Tilak while the hotel formalities is completed. Rest of the day is at leisure with overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Delhi
Sir Edwin Lutyens would have never designed New Delhi and the famed Cannaught Place shopping centre in the heart of India’s capital had it not been for India’s glorious past. He called his creation the "Rome of Hindustan." After a brief introduction of the city tour by our Tour Manager we proceed for our welcome India tour and visit Jama Masjid, and drive pass India gate, Parliament and President House before entering in to the famous bazaar of Chandani Chok. Day 03: Delhi – Shimla (By Himalayan Queen Toy Train)
It’s worth starting early morning as we travel to railway station and board Himalayan queen train to start an unforgettable journey till Shimla. We passes through the breathtaking landscapes of majestic Himalayas, 103 tunnels, 969 bridges, 919 curves and 20 railway stations in its entire journey. The Guinness Book on 'Rail Facts and Feats' included Kalka-Shimla Railway as the greatest narrow gauge engineering achievement in India. Overnight at Shimla.(B,D)
Day 04: Shimla
Enjoy leisurely breakfast, later explore this beautiful town covered with pine forests, breathtaking views and legacy of the British era long gone by. The British coined the term “Queen of the hills” for Shimla, as it is blessed with all the natural bounties, one can think of. The small hill station amidst the lofty snow-clad Himalayan ranges, surrounded by lakes and lush green pastures looks as though an artist has painted them. Visit the famous shopping place of Shimla town – The Mall and The Ridge, which offer the best in garment and textile industry. Overnight at hotel.(B,D)
Day 05: Shimla- Manali (280 kms / 5 hrs 30 mins)
We travel to Manali and enjoy the scenic ride and breathtaking beauty of this hill station. Manali has spectacular views of snow-capped peaks, wooded slopes, the Beau river rushing along its rocky course amid grassy meadows carpeted with wild flowers and wagtails hop along from stone to stone along the stream’s edge. Overnight at hotel. (B,D)
Day 06: - Manali
After leisurely breakfast we go for an excursion to Rohtang Pass, one of the world’s highest mountain passes, for a panoramic view of Mighty Himalaya, rising fare above the clouds which is a sight truly breath-taking. Later return to Manali for overnight stay at the hotel.(B,D)
Day 07: Manali – Kullu (40 kms / 1 hr)
Before making our way to Kullu we enjoy an excursion to small town called Manikaran which has the World's hottest Sulphur Spring Waters and is a holy place for Hindus and Sikhs alike. The water from the steaming springs is noted for its healing properties. On the northern side of Manikaran, one will be astounded at the splendid sight of the Harinder Mountain ranges. Overnight at hotel.(B,D)
Day 08: Kullu
Enjoy your leisurely breakfast and explore this small town and its famous Shawl industry. Beyond the forbidding heights of the Great Himalayas and by the banks of the shinning river Beas, lies the fabled ‘Silver Valley’ of Kullu. Here is the core of an intricate web of numerous valleys – each of which is a visual delight and seems more beautiful than the other. Shop for exquisite handicraft items, Kullu shawls, caps, authentic Tibetan souvenirs like silver and turquoise jewellery and thangkas. Thangkas are cloth paintings with Buddhist themes, which are famous here. Overnight at hotel.
Day 09: Kullu - Dharamshala
Today we travel to Dharamshala and enjoy another beautiful ride in the Himachal Valley. Set against the backdrop of the dramatic Dhauladhar mountains, Dharamshala is perched on the high slopes in the upper reaches of Kangra Valley. Overnight at hotel.(B,D)
Day 10: Dharamshala
After a leisurely breakfast we enjoy panoramic view of the tea gardens, beautiful hills, colourful bazaar of this town which become the synonymous to the Tibetan government in exile and the home of Noble Laureate the Dalai Lama. Even if the Tibetan community dominates the town, still it has retained the colonial lifestyle and British fervour. Overnight at hotel. (B,D)
Day 11: Dharamshala – Dalhousie (145 kms / 3 hrs)
We travel to Dalhousie, another hill station full of 'Old world' charm and holds lingering echoes of the 'Raj' and named after the British Governor General of the 19th century. It is a gateway to an ancient culture, temples and unspoilt beauty of the Chamba and Pangi Valleys. Afternoon free to explore this town with overnight at hotel. (B,D)
Day 12: Dalhousie
After leisurely breakfast we explore this small but beautiful town. Its location presents panoramic views of the plains, long silver line as the river Ravi twists and turns below Dalhousie. This hill region is a repository of ancient Hindu culture, art, temples and handicrafts preserved under the longest running single Chamba dynasty since the mid-6th century. A number of picturesque walks run through the oak, pine and deodar forests around the town, offering excellent views of the Chenab, the Ravi and the Beas valley. Overnight at hotel.(B,D)
Day 13: Dalhousie – Amritsar (190 kms / 4 hrs)
Today we travel to Amritsar, literally meaning “holy pool of nectar” the most sacred, spiritual shrine and important holy place of Sikh religion. Afternoon free to explore this holy city and visit Sri Harmandir Sahib known as The Golden temple, a living symbol of the spiritual and historical traditions of the Sikhs. Built in the midst of a holy pool, the dome of the temple is covered with an estimated 400kgs of gold leaf, the interiors are decorated by inlay work with delicate floral patterns done with semi precious stones. Overnight at hotel.(B,D)
Day 14: Amritsar
We start our day in the afternoon and visit the Jalianwala Bagh which tells the sad story of mass killing of April 1919 during the independence movement in India. Today this ground had been changed to a park and has a pleasant garden. At the entrance is a memorial plaque which recounts the history, on the north side is a well in which many people who tried to escape from the bullets were drowned and remnants of walls have been pressed to show the bullet holes. At the east side there is a large memorial built in memory of those who died here. Finish with the retreat ceremony at Wagha border where Border Security Force on the Indian Side and the Sutlej Rangers on the Pakistan side putting up a well coordinated and spectacular display. Day 15: Amritsar - Delhi (Train)
After breakfast tour finish with the transfer to the railway station where you board train to Delhi to get your flight for your onwards journey. (B)
